The interactive Media Entertainment Association has been working very hard on trying to make poker online legal. They went to court and filed an appeal because they feel that it is not right and that it is not constitutional to have such laws about poker. However, if the online gamblers hoped that they could start playing poker online and it would be legal, they were sadly mistaken because the court rejected the case and would not allow them to speak up about it.
The chairman of The Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association, Joe Brennan Jr, is actually fine with this because he thinks that it will help make way for poker to actually become legalized in every state of the USA. A lot of fans believe that Joe Brennan is just bluffing but he is working very hard to make online poker legal and so are a lot of other people.
When the court made their decision, they did not waver about it, and they made sure that everyone understands that it is unlawful to play poker online in the USA and will continue to be unlawful. The great news is that there are 44 states where there might be a chance of poker becoming legal and only a half-dozen states have some hard laws against online poker.
Even though the court made that decision and on the outside it gives the appearance that nothing has changed, in reality, a lot of things have changed. Joe Brennan is hoping that some of the states will be relieved and that soon, people there will be able to play poker online.
People want change and it’s just not being demanded by him. There are senators and other people that are looking into getting online poker legalized.
The focus right now has been changed and what they want to start doing right now is making it legal in each state instead of changing the law altogether at the present time.
There are a lot of laws that seem old fashioned and not really up to date. If they can change this law here, they will be pushing to get some of the other laws repealed that should be changed. A lot of people don’t like change, and that is the main reason why some of them believe that the court is not allowing it to happen. They don’t want to see a change and they are not risking it. If they get enough people to help them out, they very well could see a nice and positive change. The main thing is they don’t want people to give up fighting to make online poker legal all over the country.
