Brazil Might Be Banning Online Gambling

If people think that the bans for gambling online will only be affecting the USA, they can guess again because there is another country that is in the process right now of debating if they should allow their country to gamble online or not. The country that is in the middle of the debate is the Brazilian government, and if they do proceed with it, the people in Brazil will be looking at possibly being forced to obey laws like the UIGEA in the USA. Those laws mean that payments will be stopped in order to block the online gambling process.

Just like the UIGEA, the Brazilian government is hoping to stop the payment transactions, and if they block those, no one will be able to gamble online in Brazil. The senator that has been trying really hard to push the bill is Senator Magno Malta. He has been working on this for a very long time, and it is just now coming into the light because it’s reaching certain committees like the Technology and Communications Committee. Once it reaches places that far up, you can bet that it is almost a done deal.

The US faced tons of problems when it tried blocking gambling online, but Brazil won’t be having these kinds of problems because they will be enacting a law that will prohibit all kinds of gambling; it won’t just be focused on only online gambling. Because of this, the USA might be considering doing some similar things, depending on how they work out in Brazil.

A lot of the online casino players in Brazil are furious about this. They feel that the government is pushing this too far and that they should be allowed to at least play the casino online. Some of them are even talking about moving out of Brazil just so they can avoid living with this law but they will wait and see what exactly happens, because it might not even pass.

If this law passes in Brazil, it will change a lot of things and the websites will be forced once again to ban lots of members from their sites and from allowing them to use their software. It will really hurt their industry even more because they do a lot of business in Brazil. Everyone really hopes that this new law does not pass because of all the damage it could possibly do.

The passage of this law might take months or even years before the process is concluded and until then, the people in Brazil will continue enjoying playing online and they will try not to stress out about it too much, so that they can get the most out of playing online.
